The air. conditioning on my 2.5 tdi didn't work when I bought it and I put this down to the fact that the compressor belt was broken. I fitted a new belt but still no luck.The local garage advertised air con. repairs so I dropped in.He said there was no gas in the system and recharged it,and me £84. that was ages ago and now it needs doing again but I remember him saying that the gas he used would be banned and in future I would have to have extensive work done to have it converted to take the replacement gas if I needed to have it done again.It worked fine until recently when I suspect the gas needs recharging again.Is it going to cost me a fortune to have it modified or would I be better off not bothering?
